◎简 介
尼克（文斯·沃恩 Vince Vaughn 饰）因工作原因与妻子离婚，女儿凯特（海莉·斯坦菲尔德 Hailee Steinfeld 饰）与前妻生活。尽管很少与女儿见面，尼克仍然承担着她的生活费，并默默关心着她的成长。在一次行动中，尼克策划盗窃检察院的证物，以揭露腐败警察，却不料引来厄运。他将信息提供给由亚力山卓领导的盗窃团伙，但当亚力山卓被枪杀后，尼克成为了最大的嫌疑人。 得知自己可能被追杀后，为了保护女儿的未来，尼克购买了保险，将受益人指定为凯特。他们被亚力山卓的父亲维克多追杀，尼克带着女儿艰难逃亡，途中两人之间建立了深厚的感情。与此同时，基德侦探带领手下调查此案，真相逐渐浮出水面：枪杀亚力山卓的真凶是基德等人，他们正是即将被起诉的腐败警察。尼克和女儿联手将真凶基德带到维克多面前。最终，基德丧生，维克多等人也因他们的罪行而被起诉。尼克和女儿最终摆脱了冤屈，走在阳光下，享受着新生活。
