◎简 介
小田切让首次执导长片，入选威尼斯电影节威尼斯日单元，浅野忠信、苍井优、永濑正敏亦有参与演出。 主要讲述在明治时代后期，大正初期。船夫十市独自生活在河边的一个节俭的小屋，这条河将村庄与城镇相连。他每天的工作是划船接送形形色色的人、畜过河，他每天就这样默默地划船，过着温和而宁静的生活。 文明的浪潮正冲进这样一个山村，河的上游正在建造一座大型砖桥。村民在船上兴高采烈地讨论着桥落成后的便利，如果桥一旦建成，也意味着村里的人、畜都不再需要他，十市对此心情十分的复杂，一边是村民更加的便利，一边是自己将何去何从？一日十市在渡河时，有个东西撞到了船上，打捞上来一看一个奄奄一息的女孩，他讲女孩带回了小屋，经常休养女孩恢复了健康，但与此同时，十市听到了一艘渡轮发生谋杀案的传言。这个女孩来自哪里？她有什么样的过去？这些疑问在他心里一运而生。
